Description

Ingredients

For the Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp jarred minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

For the Rest:

  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • 1/8 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 4 oz uncooked pasta (any shape)
  • 1/2 lb raw shrimp, thawed
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cook the pasta according to the package directions.

  3. In a saucepan, melt butter, add garlic and flour, cook until bubbly.
  4. Gradually stir in milk, broth, salt, and pepper, cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Mix beaten egg, Parmesan, and ricotta cheese in a bowl.
  6. Combine the broth mixture, cheese mixture, and pasta in a bowl.
  7. Pour the pasta mixture into two baking dishes.
  8. Layer shrimp over the pasta, add mozzarella and parsley.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • I buy frozen shrimp to save prep time.
  • Rinse pasta to cool it down for the sauce not to cook too early.
