Description

Marshmallow Pops are a delightful treat featuring regular-sized marshmallows dipped in smooth, melted milk chocolate and optionally filled with creamy peanut butter, caramel sauce, or Nutella. Finished with a variety of toppings such as chopped hazelnuts or colorful sprinkles, these sweet pops are perfect for parties, holidays, or a fun snack inspired by theme park favorites.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips or Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 36 Regular Sized Marshmallows

Optional Fillings

  • Peanut Butter
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Nutella

Optional Toppings

  • Chopped Hazelnuts
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marshmallows: If adding fillings, make a small slit in each marshmallow and carefully insert a small amount of peanut butter, caramel sauce, or Nutella inside. Set aside.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, combine the milk chocolate chips or melting wafers with 1 tsp of oil. Heat gradually and stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Assemble the Pops: Insert sticks into the marshmallows to create pops. Dip each marshmallow pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated.
  4. Add Toppings: While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle chopped hazelnuts, sprinkles, or any preferred topping on the sticks to adhere.
  5. Set the Pops: Place the marshmallow pops upright in a styrofoam block or a lined tray so the chocolate can set without smudging. Refrigerate or let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is firm, the marshmallow pops are ready to serve. Enjoy these fun and sweet treats at your next gathering or as a homemade candy delight.

Notes

  • I’ve been to a few theme parks, and this is one of the treats they sell in their confectionary stores: marshmallow pops.
  • Adding optional fillings such as peanut butter, caramel, or Nutella adds a rich flavor contrast to the sweet marshmallow and chocolate coating.
  • Use oil sparingly to prevent the chocolate from becoming too thin; about 1 tsp is sufficient.
  • For easy setting, chill the pops in the refrigerator after dipping for quicker hardening.
  • Customize the toppings to your preference for variety and presentation appeal.
