Description

This creamy Italian sausage tortellini combines savory sausage, rich Alfredo and marinara sauces, and tender cheese tortellini, all topped with melted cheese and fresh parsley for a comforting and flavorful meal that’s perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Meat & Vegetables

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

Sauces & Seasonings

  • 15 oz jar Rao’s Alfredo sauce
  • 15 oz Rao’s Marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Parsley flakes (for garnish)

Pasta & Cheese

  • 19 oz frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook Sausage and Onion: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and chopped onion, cooking until the sausage is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  2. Add Sauces and Seasonings: Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in minced garlic, Alfredo sauce, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine all flavors.
  3. Add Tortellini: Incorporate the frozen cheese tortellini into the skillet, stirring to coat evenly with the sauce. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the tortellini are tender.
  4. Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the tortellini mixture. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) and bake uncovered for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly, or cover the skillet on the stovetop and let sit until the cheese melts.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven or stove, sprinkle with dried parsley flakes, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Ensure the tortellini is well covered with sauce for even cooking.
  • Use fresh parsley or dried flakes for garnish to enhance presentation and flavor.
  • You can substitute the cheese tortellini with veggie-filled tortellini for a vegetarian version.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes according to spice preference.
