Description

This Gluten-Free Christmas Chex Mix is a festive, crunchy snack mix perfect for holiday gatherings. Combining Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, salted peanuts, and colorful red & green M&Ms, all coated in a smooth vanilla almond bark white chocolate, this treat offers a perfect balance of salty and sweet flavors. Easy to make and decorated with sprinkles, it’s ideal for sharing or gifting during the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale

Christmas Chex Mix

  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
  • 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts (just salted, not seasoned)
  • 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
  • 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional Decoration

  • 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Station: Spread out a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or your counter to create a clean workspace where the coated mix can cool and set.
  2. Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Set aside half of the M&Ms for decorating later. In a large bowl, combine Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, half of the M&Ms, and the peanuts.
  3. Melt The White Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla almond bark in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well after each until smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, melt it on the stovetop using a double boiler.
  4. Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal mixture and quickly stir to coat everything evenly before the coating starts to harden.
  5. Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated mix onto the prepared parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle the remaining M&Ms and optional festive sprinkles on top, then let the mixture cool completely to set. The mix will form clusters; leave some larger and some smaller for a nice texture variation.
  6. Serve & Store: Enjoy right away or store the mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • To enhance presentation, hold back a handful or two of M&Ms to sprinkle on top after coating for more visible colorful candy spots.
  • Add festive sprinkles such as nonpareils or jimmies on top for a charming holiday touch, though optional.
  • For extra decorative flair, dip ½ to ¾ cup of pretzels separately in melted almond bark, sprinkle them before drying, then add the rest of the mixture coated with the melted white chocolate. This creates standout pretzels for visual appeal.
