Description

Memaw’s Sausage Bundles are savory bite-sized treats made with seasoned pork sausage and creamy chive-onion cream cheese, wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection. These delightful bundles are perfect as appetizers or snack bites, served warm with a side of Dijon mustard for dipping.

  • 8 oz. regular bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chive and onion cream cheese spread

  • 1 (8-oz.) can crescent rolls

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: Preheat oven to 375°F. In a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage, crumbling it with a wooden spoon until fully cooked through, about 5 minutes. Transfer the sausage to a medium bowl and allow it to cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the chive and onion cream cheese spread to the cooked sausage in the bowl and stir until well combined to create a creamy sausage filling.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into a 12″ x 9″ rectangle on a clean work surface. Firmly press the perforations to seal the dough so it doesn’t separate, then cut into 24 squares approximately 2″ x 2″ each.
  4. Assemble the Bundles: Divide the sausage-cream cheese mixture evenly among the dough squares, placing about 1 heaping teaspoon on each. Bring the four corners of each square together to slightly overlap in the center, then twist and pinch the dough tightly to seal the bundle. Place the bundles on an ungreased baking sheet, spaced evenly.
  5. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake the sausage bundles in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with Dijon mustard on the side if desired.
