Description

This Mint Chocolate Chip Fudge is a rich, creamy treat perfect for mint lovers. Smooth white chocolate fudge is infused with refreshing mint extract and vibrant green food coloring, then studded with mini chocolate chips for a delightful crunch. Easy to prepare with simple ingredients and no baking required, it’s an ideal dessert for holidays or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Fudge Base

  • 3 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2-3 teaspoons mint extract (not peppermint)
  • Green food coloring, to desired color

Chocolate Chips

  • 3/4 cups mini chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8 inch square pan with foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Set it aside for later.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then let it rest for 1 minute. Check if melted; if not, microwave for an additional 30-45 seconds. Stir thoroughly until all lumps are gone and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add Condensed Milk and Flavoring: Stir in the entire can of sweetened condensed milk and 2-3 teaspoons of mint extract into the melted chocolate mixture. Add green food coloring a few drops at a time until the fudge reaches your desired color. Mix until fully incorporated.
  4. Fold in Mini Chocolate Chips: Allow the fudge mixture to cool for a few minutes. Then gently fold in 1/2 cup of the mini chocolate chips to evenly distribute them without melting.
  5. Press and Top: Pour and press the fudge evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips over the top and gently press them into the fudge surface for decoration.
  6. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours to allow it to fully set and firm up before cutting into squares.
  7. Store Properly: Once set and cut, store the fudge in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • Use mint extract, not peppermint extract, to avoid a medicinal taste and ensure the classic mint flavor.
  • Microwave times can vary; melt the chocolate slowly to prevent burning.
  • Green food coloring is optional but provides the traditional mint chocolate chip look.
  • Make sure to press the chocolate chips into the fudge surface to prevent them from falling off.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
